The past 100 years The Historic Central Theater (www.hotspringscentraltheater.com) has been home to movies, live shows and more. Closed and forgotten for decades, (it was dubbed haunted) in early 2000 the new owners renovated and re-opened the venue. The theater is now home to the “HOT SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL HORROR FILM FESTIVAL”.
HOT SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL HORROR FILM FESTIVAL ( HSHFF) is an independent film festival, HSHFF recognizes and promotes a variety of films in the “HORROR” “THRILLER” and “SCI-FI” genres.
The festival’s Director Bill Volland is an International award winning film producer. He has worked on feature films, national commercials and movies-of-the-week including “Family Rescue” starring George C. Scott and “Top Dog” with Chuck Norris, in addition to four seasons with the TV series “Silk Stalkings” and twenty episodes of the series “American Frontier”. Some of his other credits include national commercials for US Navy, Hilton Hotels, GMC, Ford, Chevy, Coke, Kodak, National Baseball League and more…
Leviathan a 32′ Camera Crane built by Universal Studios and used by Alfred Hitchcock on films like”PSYCHO” & “THE BIRDS” makes a showing at the festival every year.
